Retrieval of dislodged Marker Buoy for the Buccoo Reef Marine Park

The Department of Marine Resources and Fisheries is directly responsible for the management of the Buccoo Reef Marine Park, which is demarcated by five (5) marine Perimeter Buoys. Due to natural wear and tear, Perimeter Buoy #5 broke its anchor; and, the Department was informed of its recovery off the coast of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. the Department of Marine Resources and Fisheries was instrumental in engaging the necessary entities on the matter; and, through a collaborative effort on the part of this Division and TADCO, the Capital of Paradise I retrieved the buoy – on its most recent fishing expedition. The Department is already scheduled to have Perimeter Buoy #5 returned to its anchor.
