MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU) SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN THE NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (NAMDEVCO) AND THE TOBAGO AGRIBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COMPANY (TADCO). 

 
The National Agricultural Marketing and Development Corporation (NAMDEVCO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tobago Agribusiness Development Company (TADCO) on February 8, 2023.
 
The productive collaboration aims to develop a strategic alliance that will assist Primary Producers and Value Added Processors in Trinidad and Tobago, to facilitate growth and development according to international market requirements for the benefit of all stakeholders along the value chain from “Farm to Table.”
 
The Signing Ceremony, held at the Piarco Packinghouse, was attended by Assemblyman Nathisha Charles-Pantin, Secretary for Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development, Mr. Ricardo Alfred, Chairman of the Board of Directors, TADCO, Mr. Wayne Inniss, Chairman of the Board of Directors, NAMDEVCO, other members of the Board of Directors, Mr. Deonecio Salazar, Chief Executive Officer, TADCO, Ms. Nirmalla Debysingh, Chief Executive Officer, NAMDEVCO, Mr. Rayber Bowen, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, NAMDEVCO, and other members of the Management Teams. 
 
Both parties’ collaborative agreements entail the following major aspired objectives:
 
  • To strengthen their business relationship and collaborate in areas of common interest for the benefit of all stakeholders along the value chain from ‘Farm to Table’ in Trinidad and Tobago.
  • To develop a Business to Business relationship that will lead to a transfer of knowledge, skills and abilities that would facilitate growth and development of all stakeholders in the Agriculture Sector on the island of Tobago towards certification and the facilitation of practices inclusive of GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) and the required data collection systems that will allow for traceability and increased market opportunities locally, regionally and internationally.
  • To develop a strategic alliance to create synergies that will translate into success for stakeholders in the Agricultural Sector and enhancement of the value chain as it relates to agro-processing and marketing of produce and products.
  • To collaborate on enabling production planning and related policy development.
