The Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development launched its World Food Day calendar of events on Friday 9th September under the theme “Leave No One Behind”
World Food Day is more than a celebration, it is a call to action, according to Food Security Secretary Natasha Charles-Pantin.
While climate change and rising prices persist, we must remain resilient and focused on the ultimate goal. We must engineer systems to ensure that each household has access to healthy foods by sustainably developing our agri-sector through collaborative efforts. This is achievable.
The Food Security Secretary said the THA is aggressively pursuing food security for the island to resuscitate our economy and reduce the prohibitive food import bill.
