Assemblyman Nathisha Charles- Pantin
Secretary for Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development Nathisha Charles-Pantin grew up in Cocoa-Watty Trace, Mason Hall, Tobago. She attended the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Agriculture and Forestry (ECIAF), where she won a scholarship to attend the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecological Sciences/Forestry from the University of Edinburgh and a Master's in Public Health from the University of Liverpool in England.
Nathisha Charles-Pantin was employed with the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), attached to the Department of Natural Resources and Forestry for 17 years within various capacities, namely, Forests Management Officer and Forester (I). Currently, she is the Area Representative for Bagatelle/Bacolet and the Secretary for the Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development in the Tobago House of Assembly.
Some of the high points in her life include:-
President’s Medal for excellence in Agriculture and Forestry 2002.
- Reginald Griffith Trophy and Professor Kulkarni Award for student with the best knowledge of Forest Entomology and Pathology.
- Director of Forestry Prize for student with the highest academic standing.
- Marketing Arm International- Farming the Environmental Way Prize & the Caribbean Chemical Trinidad Ltd. Prize for the student with the best practical skills.
- Director’s Prize and Hydro Agri-Trinidad Ltd. Prize and Trophy for highest overall academic standing in Agriculture and Forestry.
- Five other awards in the field of Agriculture and Forestry.
